ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Medical Director is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the Company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Executive Medical Director assumes overall responsibility for the medical component of the hospice’s patient care program including all branches attached to the hospice’s provider number. The Executive Medical Director does not replace the patient’s primary physician but serves in a consultative, supportive role. They function as a liaison between the medical community and the Company. The Executive Medical Director provides support to both Company and Program staff, intercedes with attending physicians and facilities, and provides community and physician education and development. They are responsible for applying the rules and regulations of Federal, State, and other certified regulatory agencies.

*This schedule requires availability during the day M-F, Rotating on Call*

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified by virtue of training and experience in the practice of medicine or osteopathy
  • Licensed as a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy in the state of practice
  • Board Certified in Hospice, Palliative Care, or related specialty
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must provide ongoing documentation of current vehicle insurance
