Troubleshoot, problem solve, and perform repairs on various equipment as needed. Focus on identifying and minimizing machine downtime and Quality rejects. Assist in training machine operators in setup/operation of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment as scheduled and directed.
The Industrial/Packaging Line Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. They will also perform general maintenance throughout building as needed.
Responsibilities:
· Perform setup of various types of filling, packaging, and processing equipment.
· Perform facilities upkeep and maintenance tasks as directed.
· Document/report maintenance and repairs as performed.
· Maintain all equipment to achieve optimal performance and production efficiency.
· Repairing: gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, seals, motors, coupling, welding, etc.
· Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
· Production line set-up and change-over.
· Maintain and perform proactive measures on all production lines.
· Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts; removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
· Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
· Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
· Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
· Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
· Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
· Prepares reports documenting work performed.
· Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
· Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
· Collaborates with leadership team regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
· Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
· Works well independently and with others.
· Good communication skills, Spanish is a Plus.
· Organized with attention to detail.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
· Available to work overtime as needed
· 3 Year minimum of production line experience in food, pharmaceutical or cosmetic packaging.
· Knowledge of 480 Volts, motors, proximity sensors and photo eye-sensors.
· MUST pass background and Drug Screening.
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Be able to work six days a week and up to 10 hours at day.
· Start of shift 6:30 am
· Knowledge working with Rotary filler and rotary straights
