Position open at our Bimini residential treatment program for men and women.
Summary
Although the primary function is as Case Manager, this position may be asked to perform the core functions of a Counselor as assigned and when needed. Functions may include but are not limited to screening, intake, assessment, orientation, counseling (individual, group, family), treatment planning, and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Role model appropriate healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, including HIPAA and Confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate treatment resources to meet the needs of program participants.
- Identify specific areas of need and incorporate family support when applicable.
- Facilitate the delivery of treatment services in the office and/or in the field, if applicable, to participants through case management, individual counseling, group process, and multi-family sessions and educational groups.
- Collaborate with network services providers to monitor and assist with participant service needs.
- Provide appropriate interventions that are safe, effective, timely, and participant-centered.
- Document the services provided according to standards set by the Agency and applicable County, State, and Federal regulations. Documentation should be clear, concise, and completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in transporting participants to and from outside appointments.
- Facilitate full utilization of service units, including Case Management, as directed by the supervisor.
- Assist with resident’s/participant’s benefits (e.g. SSI, MediCal) application(s).
Other requirements
- Current SUD Counselor registration with a State approved certification agency (must become certified within five years from initial date of registration).
- non-smoker preferred
- Knowledge of 12-Step programs and/or philosophy.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.
