Early Learning Center Director
Our school is a fairly new, non-profit organization with many opportunities for qualified individuals. Job Summary
The ELC Director has overall responsibility for operation of the center, ensuring that the school is operated in accordance with state licensing standards, Quality First, and our school policies which uphold the highest standards of care and education. Must be able to maintain and lead operating procedures to provide the best educational, caring, and safe environment for children and families in the industry. Must maintain the highest standards of leadership by being visible and involved daily in the operations and education of the classrooms. Promotes the positive image of the organization in the community. Achieves financial sustainability for the non-profit mission through daily tasks related to new enrollment as well as retaining existing families. Works directly with the school founder and executive team to execute the mission of the school with loving excellence.
Job Responsibilities and Standards of Performance
Fiscal Responsibilities
- Maintains an accurate financial accounting of the center’s operation and protects the company’s monetary assets.
- Prepares and forwards accurate payroll, accounting, and operations reports by pre-determined deadlines.
- Hires and maintains high quality and performing staff.
- Manages a team of 12-30 team members to ensure successful operations of the center.
- Assist in the hiring and maintaining of the teaching staff.
Enrollment
- Fills the center to capacity while maximizing the profitability of the operation.
- Daily attendance should meet licensed capacity.
- Is available to parents at their convenience—listens attentively to their concerns and takes appropriate action.
- Ensures retention of students by ensuring quality programs.
- Tracks all inquiries, converts inquiries into parent tours, and converts tours into enrollments. Accurately reports withdrawals and new starts weekly.
- Relationships with Families- Maintains effective communications with families.
- Conducts parent meetings and other conferences as appropriate.
- Regularly solicits feedback from parents in order to improve the center.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Maintains good working relationships with the licensing board representative and the city health representative.
- Maintains building, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe environment that meets corporate standards and all regulatory agency requirements.
- Requires staff to enforce all safety policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Implements all standards necessary to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment, including universal precautions.
