Classroom Teachers, working with two or three person teaching teams, are responsible for creating and maintaining a nurturing, play-based learning environment, curriculum development, evaluating and documenting each student's growth through observations and assessments, preparing and conducting family conferences, engaging in a weekly team meeting, working collaboratively with other teachers or faculty member and ensuring regular family communication through the year. Additional responsibilities include attending monthly faculty meetings and professional development, as well as other duties assigned by the administration.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or currently taking classes
- DEEC Certification
- Understanding of emergent and child center curriculum
- Knowledge of child development and best practices in education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and handle behavioral challenges
- Experience with special needs and early intervention strategies a plus
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Excellent attention to detail and reliable
