Job Title: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Care Coordinator
Job Description: Union EAP Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in promoting employee well-being and ensuring access to confidential counseling and support services. The ideal candidate will have a background in counseling or social work, strong organizational skills, and a passion for supporting individuals in need. The Care Coordinator reports to Union EAP Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Administer the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to ensure timely access to counseling and support services for members and their eligible family members.
- Have experience speaking on the phone with people in need of support.
- Collaborate with Union EAP dispatchers to ensure immediate and best member assistance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for members seeking assistance through the EAP, providing confidential intake, assessment, and referral services.
- Coordinate and schedule counseling appointments with qualified mental health professionals or external EAP providers as needed.
- Follow policies and procedures in regard to workflow.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of EAP interactions and services provided, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and company policies.
- Become a subject expert for topics related to mental health, stress management, family integration, and other relevant areas.
- Monitor trends and patterns in EAP utilization, identifying opportunities for program enhancement or expansion to better meet the needs of members.
- Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in employee assistance programs and mental health support services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- Interns are welcome to apply.
- Professional certification or licensure as a counselor, social worker,
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in counseling, social services, or related field, with a focus on mental health support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide empathetic and nonjudgmental support to individuals in distress.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and community resources for mental health support.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage confidential information in a responsible manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and upholding ethical standards in the provision of counseling and support services.
