Job Title: Senior E911 Operations Engineer
Locations: Littleton, CO
Job Description:
-Daily Operations, testing and troubleshooting E911 Wireless
- Must have solid knowledge and experience with monitoring Wireless E911 technologies
- Must have good understanding of E911 4(G) LTE and 5G (NR) call and test flows and must be familiar with E911 FCC regulations.
-Prior work experience with Location base services (LBS) technologies, including E911 vertical
- Monitor and maintain the stability and performance of E911 systems
- Assess service impacts and support maintenance activities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to E911 systems. Analyze logs and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to identify and mitigate issues
- Implement and test system enhancements, including new features, functionality upgrades, and break/fixes
- Implement best practices related to E911 operations to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation, processes, and procedures for E911 operations
- Participate in troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis reviews and provide recommendations for process or system improvements
- Participate in E911 roadmap planning and vendor review discussions
- Define and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and report on E911 performance and compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Telecommunications, or related technical field, and a minimum of 5 years of wireless engineering or operations experience. Relevant job experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong technical knowledge and prior operational experience with emergency communication and location technologies, E911 and LBS systems, and telecommunications networks
- Familiarity with FCC Rules and Regulations related to E911 with the ability to operationalize E911 technologies in a way that maintains compliance
- Demonstrated career progression, both in increasing responsibilities and skill development.
- Good verbal, written, and critical thinking skills with the ability to serve other organizations and teams as a 911 technical consultant
- Ability to support periodic maintenance activities, be on-call, and oversee network change management and testing
- Understanding of E911 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) required for performance tracking and reporting
- Experience with incident management and Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to independently support multiple concurrent testing and troubleshooting efforts
- Experience working with emergency service providers, Global Mobile Location Center (GMLC) providers, or public safety agencies is preferred
- Experience with Location-Based Services (LBS) and wireless accuracy testing is highly desired
- Experience creating KPIs, processes, and workflows
- Experience with FCC reporting
- Experience managing vendor and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) relationships
