Title: Product Performance Test Engineer
Location: Westminster, CO
Division: Agriculture

What You Will Do
As a Product Performance Test Engineer in Trimble's Agriculture division, you will have the responsibility to aid in the development of Trimble Autopilot systems and field automation systems. Your primary focus will be Performance Testing, tuning, and troubleshooting of GPS-based guidance systems, and statistical data analysis of those systems. You'll also be involved in: component and system-level testing of our agricultural product performance, analysis of collected data, and aggregating and organizing that data for use by the broader engineering team. Additionally, you will:
  • Perform vehicle and product level Performance Testing to confirm product performance meets the market needs and expectations.
  • Work with marketing and Engineering through all phases of product development to generate user acceptance criteria and test plans that gauge results against requirements.
  • Develop testing tools and scripts that provide a means to test product performance.
  • Effectively communicate and present results and recommendations within the organization
  • Collaborate and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Have problem-solving and time management skills with motivation and ability to work autonomously.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
In addition to standard professional core competencies, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field of study with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience, or; Associate's degree or certification in a technical field of study along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant technical role
  • Testing and analyzing complex software and hardware systems
  • Familiar with operations and functions of heavy equipment/machinery, preferably Agricultural
  • Proven understanding of test validation
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics
  • Scripting experience (Matlab, Python)
  • The ability to travel (including international) up to 25% per year

What Skills & Experience You Could Bring
  • Direct experience in precision agriculture
  • Direct experience with GNSS based systems
  • Familiarity with agricultural, automotive, or avionic systems, heavy machinery controls, or precision agriculture components is a plus
  • Familiarity with testing tools and sensors, e.g. potentiometers, hall effect sensors, accelerometers

About Your Location
We are open to a hybrid model for local candidates, or to candidates who are willing to relocate to the Westiminster, CO area. In a hybrid role, you will work with your manager to establish a mutually agreeable schedule for your time working in the office based on the position and the business need.
About Trimble Agriculture
The Agriculture division builds precision farming systems, including displays and automated guidance systems for agricultural vehicles. Farmers use our guidance systems to automatically steer their tractors with highly accurate GPS/GNSS-based control. Our display systems automatically control farm implements performing operations like planting seeds, spraying fertilizer, and measuring crop yield in an optimal way based on soil conditions and agronomist prescriptions. Our displays send the farm data to our web-based farm and fleet management system Trimble Agriculture business software. We save water, fuel, chemicals, and time and increase crop yields along the way.
