Position Overview: Mental Health Workers, operating in a Direct Support (DSP) capacity, provide direct support professional services and independent living skills training to the individuals we serve in our 24 hour residential programs. These programs serve the needs of individuals in a home setting that is managed by RTI. The our clients include those with a severe mental illness (SMI) health diagnosis and or traumatic brain injury (TBI) disability
Compensation: $18-20 per hour, Full-Time & Part-Time Options; $1000 Sign On for certain locations and or shifts

Organization:
• This role reports to the Program Manager
• This role does not have direct reports.
Location: Bloomington, South St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Minnetonka, and Maple Grove
Shifts: AM 7:00am-3:30pm, PM 3:00pm-11:30pm, Overnight 11:00pm-7:30am
Role Responsibilities:
• Support individuals in independent living skills through 1:1 service.
• Support individuals in Mental Health management through identifying coping skills, practicing coping skills, and alternative methods.
• Teach and model community integration skills such as: self-managing medications, managing personal finances, appropriate interpersonal interactions, managing the public transportation system, completing the necessary tasks to maintain a home, and accessing community resources.
• Interacts informally with individuals to facilitate socialization and appropriate behavior.
• Participates in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events.
• Teaches healthy living habits and develops the accompanying skills.
Required Experience, Education and Other Requirements:
• 1 year work experience working with those with a severe mental illness and or traumatic brain injury.
• 18 years of age or older with a completed High School Diploma or it’s equivalent.
• Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check.
• Ability to pass the BCA Criminal Background Check and the Sexual Exploitation of Patients by Psychotherapist screen required by DHS.
• Ability to pass screening required by Federal Human Services office of the Inspector General
• Ability to organize and work independently.
• Willingness to travel within the Metro Area, for applicable mileage reimbursements, with a current driver’s license, clean record, and personal vehicle with insurance; and able to transport clients in that vehicle.
• Possess a person-centered approach, consistent with the Philosophical approach of the individual program and RTI
• Ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
