The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the people we serve. RMA Administration provides centralized Finance, Information Technology, Donor Development, Mission Support, Human Resources and Facilities services to the ministries and departments of RMA.
Summary
The Donation Processing Associate provides essential administrative support to the Donor Development team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of donated contributions and gifts-in-kind for our six locations. Must be passionate about RMA’s vision of Changing Lives for Good, friendly customer service oriented and enthusiastic, dependable and detailed orientated. This is a full-time, regular non-exempt position located in Oxnard, CA. Reporting to the Controller. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process donations, open and sort mail, scan checks using the check scanner.
- Provide outstanding customer service by providing answers to donor phone inquiries.
- Enter donations into the Raisers Edge donor database.
- Run reports, balance data entry batches and prepare bank deposits.
- Update donor records.
- Process receipts/acknowledgement letters to donors.
- Process gift-in-kind donations received by the missions by assigning values when needed.
- Maintain report binders and various donation information.
- Process Credit Card donations via phone
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- A "Servant Leader" in actual everyday situations in alignment with RMA’s Lead Like Jesus commitment and Mission/Vision/Values.
- Attend monthly safety and weekly staff meetings.
- Promote RMA Safety Program in alignment with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and model safe work practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities
There are no supervisor responsibilities for this position.
Qualifications
- A solid Bible based Christian faith, compatible with RMA’s Statement of Faith and an active member of an Evangelical church.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior non-profit, office, accounting and/or data entry experience preferred.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn new software, i.e. Raisers Edge.
- A teachable spirit and committed to team participation.
- Able to Multi-task
Software
Must be comfortable with Word, Excel, Outlook and database programs.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift mail bins or boxes weighing 30 lbs.
Equipment
Folding machine, postage machine and automated letter opener. No prior experience required.
Work Environment
This position will function primarily in an office environment. Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.
