Job Description
Immediate opportunity for a Process Development Research Associate to work with a multinational, pharmaceutical company on their new, state-of-the-art biotechnology innovation and research center located in San Francisco, CA. This role is supporting the Process Development team by executing defined studies and ensuring proper capture of data. The Process Development Research Associate is expected to support the laboratory's operations by maintaining inventory, equipment, and general upkeep.
Position Type: 1 year, long term contract role
Schedule/Shift: 1st shift, Mon.-Fri., 8am-5pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute defined procedures at various Process Development scales and unit operations.
- Analyze samples using various instruments & techniques (eg cell counters, spent media analyzers, etc.).
- Testing may include ELISA, BCA, Spectrophotometry, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, ddPCR / PCR, Nova BioFlex, and Vicell Counting assays
- Capture study data in appropriate formats (including paper records, digital repositories), ensuring Good Documentation Practices are followed.
- Prepare study buffers and reagents.
- Ensure lab instruments are maintained in proper working state by performing routine maintenance and supporting vendor repairs.
- Adhere to Process Development SOP/DOP documents.
- Maintain lab inventory.
- Participate in lab Kaizen and 5S/6S initiatives.
- Entry level lab-based Associate, reporting to supervisor/manager or group lead.
- Supports routine site-based operations for Process Development.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (AS) or Bachelor's degree (BS) with 0-2 years’ industry experience.
- Experience in a process based role
- MS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
