Distributed Control Systems - Intern - Water Sector
Cordoba Corporation seeks interns to support our Water Sector. The Distributed Control Systems intern is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, and/or Computer Science or a closely related field. The intern will be introduced to the Honeywell Distributed Control system (DCS), supporting operation of local wastewater treatment facilities.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the Honeywell Distributed Control system (DCS) career path and requirements for entry to the field.
- Become familiar with water reclamation processes and technology.
- Complete online and in-person Honeywell DCS training.
- Assist programmers and systems engineers in operating water reclamation plants.
- Perform field verification.
- Develop equipment specification sheets.
Qualifications
- Interest in a career in Distributed Control system (DCS) engineering, design and/or programming in the water treatment field.
- Current standing as a sophomore, junior, or senior-level student in a bachelor's degree program in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, and/or Computer Science or a closely related field. Junior college students planning to transfer to a bachelor's degree program will also be considered.
- Ability to learn and work independently and in a team environment.
- Course work in Environmental Engineering, water-chemistry and/or Control Systems is a plus.
- This is a hybrid role, going to the office once or twice weekly in Los Angeles, CA.
- Part-time 4 to 20 hours per week for the 2024 Spring term or through June 30, 2024.
- Salary Range: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and coursework.
