Your Opportunity
Our Pasadena, Irvine and San Diego, California offices of Stantec are seeking a part-time Engineering Intern to join our multi-disciplinary team of integrated water professionals, each committed to delivering sound and strategic consulting services to a range of local, regional, state, and federal clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
Gain experience in with various areas including:

  • Water-related infrastructure
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on water projects throughout California and the western U.S.
  • Conduct technical evaluations, supporting planning and design of water supply, water treatment, and wastewater projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project engineers and staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
  • Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, performing calculations for design projects, along with some exposure to CAD, GIS, and design.
  • Perform project administration including preparation of reports, gathering of information, drafting proposals and correspondence, and completing progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in diverse team environments, interacting with staff, clients, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to perform field work as needed

Education and Experience
  • In progress toward earning a Bachelor's degree (minimum) or Master's degree in civil/environmental engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 1 year of related undergraduate coursework.
  • Specific coursework or exposure to one or more of the following:
    • Engineering feasibility analyses and design
    • Hydraulics
    • Water/wastewater treatment processes
    • Civil or structural engineering design

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
