ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Retail Cannabis Experience Required
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for all the daily operations of the dispensary including, but not limited to, the following duties: knowledge of and compliance with NJ cannabis laws and regulations, proficient in supply purchasing, patient/customer intake, accurate recordkeeping and sales management, cash handling principles and processes, daily sales tracking and reporting, inventory management, customer service, managing staff, regulatory compliance, customer and team communication and education.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Store Manager and serve as a secondary point of supervision in stores.
- Supervise all dispensary operations and procedures during hours of operation if the Store Manager is not present.
- Ensure scheduling needs are satisfied; adjust and accommodate scheduling changes when team members need shifts covered, within reason, when Store Manager is not present, and notify Store Manager if changes are made if necessary
- Oversee and verify opening/closing procedures on a daily basis.
- Responsible for assisting with facility maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary, including proper upkeep of phone, utilities, technology, security system, maintenance, repairs, stock, and supplies etc.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- Provide support to the Store Manager in managing employees/staff.
- Manage integrity of all inventories in conjunction with Inventory Supervisor, including working knowledge of METRC and chosen POS system ensuring data accuracy in both systems.
- Comply with company cash handling policies and perform verification for Store Manager’s daily cash management responsibilities as outlined in the company’s policies; ensure cash is accurately counted and recorded.
- Assist the Store Manager in achieving short-term and long-term business success in conjunction with marketing programs and in achieving sales goals/objectives.
- Assist the Store Manager with state reporting, paperwork, and state tracking system records.
- Assist with daily compliance of company HR and operation policies, including but not limited to the following: state/local regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, dress code, and work schedules. Ensure staff compliance.
- Assist state and local government auditors and law enforcement with inventory, sales, and compliance audits when the Store Manager is not present, and report findings to Store Manager, and Senior Management if necessary
- Maintain a culture of high-quality customer service, customer communication and customer issue/complaint resolution; execute customer service and quality surveys as assigned by management.
- Ensure daily communication with the Store Manager and staff as needed.
- Manage Marketing Efforts (FB/Insta./Tik-Tok/Reddit)
- Assist in non-cannabis ordering
- Assist Floor Supervisors as an escalation for customer issues
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of medical and/or retail cannabis required.
- Must be able to obtain state approved credentials.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to medical and/or retail cannabis.
- Dutchie, or other cannabis industry POS platform experience preferred.
- METRC system experience preferred.
- Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
