The Dispatcher role is based in Connellsville, PA reporting to our Dispatch Manager.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
Are you an efficient multi-tasker that loves a good challenge? Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Dispatcher for our Aggregate operations that may be right up your alley! This position will be responsible for daily and efficient operation of the plant. Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, this position is responsible for dispatching aggregate trucks using the JWS Dispatch System, order taking and customer service.
- Day-to-day dispatching of up to 100 trucks / drivers from 3+ quarry locations
- Ensure quality product and timely deliveries to our customers with focus on company's performance objectives and targets
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Focus on customer satisfaction, and public relations when fulfilling job duties
- Assist in implementing value added product strategy
- Assist in responding to sales and customer requests
- On job customer support and the directing of drivers
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of corporate guidelines, and monitoring compliance
- Proactively managing health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in the aggregates or related industry preferred, but not required
- Proficient with computer and software databases, MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and Kronos Timekeeper
- Experience in resolving problems and dealing with difficult situations
- Product knowledge and experience with aggregate sizes and types for the construction industry a plus
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate clear and concise instructions in a professional manner
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work extended hours and irregular schedules
- Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
