This can be a remote position that requires residency in the US.
SUMMARY
Product Management, which includes Product Development, Product Maintenance, and Product Filings, is responsible for guiding the success of new products and existing product revisions and expansions, leading them through cross functional teamwork within the organization. Key Stakeholders that this position collaborates with are Underwriting Division leaders, actuary, finance, and Corporate Underwriting consultants. This role is also involved with filling Certificate of Authority gaps in each state and overseeing Company Paper strategy.
This can be a remote position that requires residency in the US.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manages the review of NCCI, ISO, AAIS and other bureau-driven circulars and Product rates, rules, and forms. Reviews recommended form and Product changes to align with AF Group's strategic direction, recommends implementation options, and leads prioritization of coverage enhancements across Commercial Markets and Specialty organizations.
  • Manages & leads the development and maintenance of new products - ensuring that staff prepares, monitors, evaluates, drafts, and obtains regulatory approval of rates, rules, and forms utilized by admitted and non-admitted products (including but not limited to Workers Compensation, Commercial Property, Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto, Inland Marine, Crime, and Umbrella Business).
  • Drives the companies' overall filing strategy for all existing and new lines of business across the Commercial Property & Casualty enterprise of AF Group.
  • Syndication and communication of all updates to Underwriting Divisions and Delegated Authority partners.
  • Reviews existing Certificates of Authority gaps by line by company by state and determines prioritization of filings to enable a countrywide footprint in conjunction with AF Group's company integration strategy, in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel and Finance organizations.
  • Manages & leads the coordination of objection responses on products filed with the state.
  • Builds relationships with state insurance departments and peers to work through product issues and filing questions to ensure timely resolution and Product availabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in insurance or Product Development, with form filing experience.
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Understanding of the pricing and Product management process, including exposure to rules, rates, and coverage form filings.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of state regulatory requirements with emphases in filing management.
  • Knowledge of SERFF and other electronic filing systems.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external business partners at all levels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises a varied number of employees in the designated department(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

PAY RANGE
Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate's skills and professional experience, geographic location, market and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $118,000 and $198,000.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a virtual office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required.
