Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • 4 year Bachelor degree required
  • 10 or more years Financial Services operations management (middle office and/or back office) with 5+ years of Capital Markets experience
  • 10 or more years Experience managing teams, processes and programs. Proven ability to lead continuous improvement efforts to maximize efficiencies and identify/correct process deficiencies
  • 10 or more years Knowledge and experience of working within a risk framework as it applies to derivatives and FX trading
  • 10 or more years In-depth transactional product knowledge including interest rate and energy derivatives, FX
  • 10 or more years SME knowledge of Dodd-Frank rules and ISDA protocols
  • 10 or more years Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook (e.g. manage and track changes, create documents with tables of contents/footnotes, advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and IF statements, create pivot tables, develop databases, create presentation templates)
  • 5 years experience Managing a team

Job Description
Director of Customer Risk Management Products, Middle Office
The Director of Customer Risk Management Products (CRMP), Middle Office will be responsible for the management and strategic direction for Derivative, Foreign Exchange and Collateral Management Operations. This role is accountable for ensuring compliance requirements for complex and critical operational activities are satisfied, critical service level targets are met and key suppliers and critical applications have the appropriate risk oversight. This role will lead initiatives that drive improvement in business processes and strengthen operational controls that result in enhanced efficiencies, reduction in manual processes and ensure issues are effectively addressed and remediated timely. This leader will collaborate with Sales and Trading partners, Capital Markets Risk Management, Compliance, Technology and Legal to influence strategic decisions and policy.
Position responsibilities:
Strategic Initiatives and Collaboration
  • Establish long and short-term strategic plans that are in support of corporate goals and objectives including technology platforms and innovation that reduce manual processes.
  • Develop and lead strategic and tactical initiatives and plans that drive improvement in business processes and efficiencies, leading to improved performance, enhanced customer experience and achievement of performance goals.
  • Sponsor and lead operational and compliance risk initiatives that impact Capital Markets operations including but not limited to RCSA Enhancement, Process Simplification, Control Identification and Documentation and Technology initiatives including Calypso.

Operations Management
  • Ensure operational processes consistently meet established service level targets.
  • Oversee Trading Operations, including settlements and confirmations, as well as daily processing of collateral management and regulatory trade reporting reconciliations.
  • Develop and manage Analytics and Reporting supporting trading across Capital Markets including KRIs.
  • Identify policy, procedure, process and control gaps, lead efforts to enhance existing and implement new policies and procedures.
  • Strengthen operational controls that result in enhanced efficiencies, reduction in manual processes.
  • Proactively self-identify issues that hinder operational performance or negatively impact the customer experience, ensure issues are addressed and remediated timely.

Supplier Management Technology Ownership
  • Oversee supplier management activities such as third-party risk reviews, contract review, invoice validation, service level performance and QBRs according to Third Party Risk Management policy.
  • Lead efforts to identify new technology innovation (systems, applications) and collaborate with Procurement to conduct RFIs/RFPs to select new suppliers.
  • Own and/or oversee support of technology applications including responsibility for user access reviews, application related projects.
  • Partner with Technology to ensure the overall health and maintenance of key applications and suppliers on an ongoing basis.

Risk Management
  • Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks and impact of changes in Dodd-Frank Protocols, ISDA based transactions confirmations, Collateral Management, SWIFT Payment and Messaging protocols for Foreign Exchange transactions on Middle Office operations; ensure risks are assessed and managed accordingly under the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Lead regulatory change management impacts on processes and assist employees in managing through the change process.
  • Direct changes to operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain satisfactory or better audit ratings.
  • Ensure Business Continuity plans are maintained.
    Implement self-monitoring programs and related reporting to validate controls are working as designed.
  • Ensure compliance with all department, corporate and government procedures, policies, laws and regulations.
  • Proactively self-identify, escalate, and manage compliance issue.
  • Other duties as assigned.
