We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team in Saginaw, MI. he ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of the accounting cycle, including financial statement preparation, purchasing, budgeting and analysis, and year-end close. Experience in human resource management and IT functions is preferred. Our ultimate candidate is proactive, team-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Overseeing all financial activities of the company, including finance, purchasing, HR, and IT departments.
- Leading financial staff and being accountable for general accounting, AR, AP, billing, cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and risk management.
- Directing the preparation and quality control of all financial reports, including reports to shareholders, banks, external accounting firms, and government regulatory agencies.
- Meeting regularly with department heads to provide insight and direction, and to offer internal controls.
- Being responsible for annual business planning and forecasting, and analyzing actual vs. planned results to identify opportunities and areas that need focus.
- Continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas of the business by providing key financial data, analysis, and insights to managers.
- Ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery of basic HR activities, including hiring, reviews, payroll, legal protections, and benefits.
- Managing the insurance selection/renewal process.
- Being a member of the senior management team with direct input into strategic planning, and leading major strategic initiatives.
- Developing, training, and mentoring accounting staff to maintain an efficient and effective team.
- Maintaining relationships with external accountants, insurance brokers, banks, IT support resources, staffing agencies, payroll companies, etc.
- Being responsible for and processing all system non-conformances, internal audit findings, and assigned corrective actions.
