Creative Director Of Video Production

Overview:
Jackson Dawson would like to welcome the Creative Director of Video Production to our team!
This individual will be the business owner for a division of Jackson Dawson called Motion Media. The ideal candidate can lead a crew from an overarching strategic and operational standpoint, while keeping the various stakeholders in the production funnel up to date.
This position will need to travel according to the needs of the department and client requests.
The position will work on-site in Dearborn, MI.
Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of digital Video Production
• Provide creative ideas to producing content
• Active partner on our creative team, developing unique ways to bring Video Production from physical to digital spaces
• Managing the client relationship at the senior level to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction and a strong ongoing consultative approach to all interaction
• Manage video department staff
• Create budgets
• Hire support staff for production shoots
• Direct project and crews across various remote locations with multiple simultaneous deadlines
• Ensure the Company is meeting or exceeding client expectations based on the scope of work with each specific client.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in a similar industry role, plus 5+ in leadership positions
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong understanding of the styles and video approaches that play well on social media
• Passion for visual storytelling and elevating brands through digital media
• Ability to shoot high end content
• Proven ability to supervise a project individually from preproduction, to shooting, lighting, sound mixing, editing, and finishing, all on deadline
• Understanding of media asset management best practices, software, systems, servers, etc.
• Ability to manage remote teams
• Extensive Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be flexible enough to respond positively to changes in the schedule based on the needs of the client

Technical Qualifications:

• Experience with ENG, multi-cam, live event production and how to properly equip each
• Experience with live studio production and its workflow.
• Experience working with and developing a relationship with a Video Production team and internal IT department
• Experience with and implementing digital asset management technology. Creating a searchable catalog of all media, and making it accessible to members of the creative teams
• Thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite Video Production tools and leveraging it's workflows
• Thorough understanding of all image acquisition devices, from mobile devices to GoPros to drones to 6K cinema cameras and their associated codecs.
• Experience with and implementing project management applications, Smartsheet, Clickup, or similar
• List of contacts for local and national freelance editors and Video Production teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VFX & motion graphics workflows 3D imaging, image removal/addition, image repair.
• Experience with Blackmagic Design products
• Familiar with shared video storage technology and network bandwidth needs
• Familiar with web-based review, approval project management tools. Experience with Frame IO and Microsoft OneDrive a plus.
• Familiar with remote editing and screen sharing tools. Experience with Parsec a plus.
• Experience with live streaming and social media platforms. YouTube, Twitch, WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, FB, Instagram, X, TikTok.
• Understanding of camera formats/resolutions and folder structures in relation to server data management
• Familiar with media archiving protocols
• Understanding of cloud storage technologies
• Experience with California Labor Laws
• Experience with SAG protocols
• Experience with OEM Legal procedures and copyright law
