GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

Provides direction, implement strategies and leads the implementation and execution of

those functions across all sections and sites within the defined market. Ensures the

efficiency and effectiveness of the market operations. Collaborates with the diverse

business units in addition to the Executive team in developing the regional market

tactical plans. Reviews and revise standards and ensures procedures comply with all

institutional and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of services with

other clinical functions and serves as an expert resource. Works in alignment with the

business unit and system administrators and medical directors to develop a consistent

approach to the delivery of value-based radiological services.

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team of the Product Line, develops strategies and associated goals and tactics for all HFHS markets and specifically for the assigned market.

·         Understands the clinical care processes of all sections/divisions/sites of care which includes but is not limited to Nuclear Medicine, C.T., Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, PET, MRI, Mammography, and General Radiology.

·         Aligns with staff, physicians and other interested parties to drive quality, patient satisfaction, integration and cost effectiveness.

·         Develops action plans to continually improve.

·         Develops, recommends, and implements short and long term departmental goals and objectives and, in collaboration with the Product Line teams develops and implements plans to meet agreed-upon goals and objectives.

·         Oversees the financial viability of the regional sites. Monitors monthly budget variance and addresses appropriate action.

·         Manages operations within the budgeted constraints identified.

·         Develops in collaboration with others the annual capital & operating budget.

·         Meets routinely with the regional Radiology physician leadership in addressing service related issues and concerns.

·         Plans and administers directly, and through supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of overall Product Line services in accordance with all institutional and regulatory agency standards.

·         Develops a call schedule with the leadership team to provide 24/7 administrative support.

·         Oversees development and maintenance of department policies, technical procedures, quality and safety programs, and operational records.

·         Oversees the interview, hiring and performance evaluations of the individuals who

·         report to the director.

·         Monitors Product Line performance for all sites within the assigned region and implements necessary changes to effect continual improvement in the services provided.

·         This is done in collaboration with other regions of the Product Line to standardize as many processes/supplies/staffing scenarios as possible.

·         Champions performance improvement initiatives within the Product Line and at individual sites as well as the system.

·         Knowledgeable of the revenue cycle processes and provides oversight on a regional basis to support appropriate billing and coding practices, as well as front end patient accounting and charge capture to maximize reimbursement.

·         Participates in compliance activities and implements correct action plans when necessary.

·         Actively participates in/on committees and other activities for the greater benefit of the health system. This may include participation or a leadership role in appropriate state,regional or national imaging caucuses.

·         Reviews dashboards/metrics for the Product Line (site/modalities/business units), to analyze the effectiveness of the area under review. Makes changes as necessary for

·         improvement.

·         Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. Will participate in the development of Certificate of Need documents.

·         Leads significant equipment and facility projects through the use of project management.

·         May be involved in negotiating pricing and terms with vendors.

·         Develops and mentors a high performing management team including but not limited to succession planning, leadership development, etc.

·         Establishes and builds effective working relationships throughout the organization, maintains effective communication among peers, physicians, staff and others.

·         Develops and leads a culture of continuous process improvement and adaptive innovation in response to the needs of the customers.

·         Identifies, and participates in growth projects for the Product Line.

·         Performs other duties incidental to the work described above.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         Bachelors in health or business related field required, Master’s preferred.

·         Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in health management.

·         Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA), preferred.

·         Certification and Proficient in one or more imaging modalities, preferred
