We have an opportunity for a Director, Philanthropy in the Philanthropy Office located at our Pasadena, California facility. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. We are presently recruiting for an experienced fundraising professional who can secure donations from our loyal supporters. This is a dynamic and meaningful position for a development professional interested in purposeful fundraising.
The Director of Philanthropy serves as a full-time major gifts officer, responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors. This Director plays a vital role in growing philanthropic revenue and is an ideal fit for an entrepreneurial, mission-driven individual. In collaboration with the philanthropy team, responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, stewarding and soliciting contributions from major gift and leadership level donors, executing annual fund campaigns, and planning high-level major donor cultivation events.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as this individual will represent the medical center to both internal and external constituencies. Strong ability to produce various fundraising-related collateral; experience with Blackbaud CRM and/or other donor database systems preferred. Must have a positive outlook with a team player mentality with willingness to mentor and support other staff as necessary. The position requires the ability to travel as needed, and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends as necessary.
This is an onsite position with an estimated 20% travel level. The pay range for this position is $110,940 to $138,675. Pay is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.
- Creating and nourishing a qualified portfolio of 125-150 donor relationships through regular contact, communication, strategy and solicitation planning
- Creating and overseeing a quarterly appeal schedule in collaboration with the Philanthropy Team
- Plan and manage major donor cultivation and recognition events
- Tracking progress and resuts using prospect management guidelines and Blackbaud CRM fundraising database
Experience
5 years of fundraising experience at the major gift level required
Healthcare fundraising experience preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
CFRE accreditation preferred
Education
Bachelor's Degree required
Advanced Degree preferred
