JOB TITLE:DIRECTOR

PROGRAM:Youth Services

STATUS: Full Time (35 hours per week)

FLSA DESIGNATION: Exempt

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

DEGREE: Master’s in Human Services or related field preferred or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with Youth required; specifically, with Runaway, Homeless and “At Risk Youth” preferred. Management/Supervisory experience required

SALARY RANGE: $55,000-$60,000

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director oversees the overall day-to-day function and provision of the Agency’s Youth Services program which includes advocacy, education and oversight of the 24/7 Casey House Runaway and Homeless Youth shelter, Youth Engagement Center, and 3-D Program. The Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for operation, development and quality of all Youth Services Programming.

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Use of personal vehicle during working hours

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Program, Mission, and services of Pinnacle Community Services, Inc. (PCS)
  • Be available for supervisory consultation 24/7
  • Complies with all policies and procedures of PCS (including NASW Code of Ethics, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and Corporate Compliance Policies) and all governmental and legal requirements
  • Attends and participates in appropriate Agency staff trainings and meetings
  • Advocates for cultural diversity/sensitivity as appropriate
  • Reports all suspected incidences of child abuse/neglect to NYS Hotline
  • Experience and knowledge on the use of computers, cell phones and a broad understanding of the Internet and e-mail in the workplace
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team, with a willingness to appreciate different points of view and problem solve in a constructive manner

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees provision of Casey House Shelter Services and Hotline, 3-D Youth Engagement Center and Programming, as well as, LEAP Transitional Case Management
  • Supervises and provides regularly scheduled supervision to Case Manager, 3-D Supervisor, and Residential Manager of 24 hour/7- day access Shelter for Runaway and Homeless Youth (with emergency hotline)
  • Provides supervision and administrative oversight to all Youth Services interns and volunteers as required
  • Provides staff development training opportunities for program and facilitates regular staff meetings
  • Responsible for oversight of fiscal management and program operating budget
  • Responsible for actively seeking funding opportunities, including grant writing, explores avenues for program development and funding; remains alert to trends and needs in the field
  • Responsible to ensure Program compliance with all Federal, State, Local and additional funder regulations in partnership with Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO)
  • Prepares timely internal and external reports as required
  • Evaluates and enhances reporting mechanisms to ensure best practices
  • Ensures ongoing and accurate data collection as required by Program, Agency and funders
  • Engages Youth Services Team in both Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement Strategies
  • Represents PCS on the Local, State and Federal Level by attending conferences, task force meetings, trainings and coalitions that address concerns relating to the youth population
  • Builds community relationships and partnerships in order to advocate for youth and promote the Agency and programs
  • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings, including, but not limited to, Senior Management, Program Director and Strategic Planning meetings
  • Responsible to engage in and facilitate ongoing outreach and educational opportunities to promote Program and Agency services
  • Ensures implementation of evidence based and trauma informed approaches throughout Program services
  • Engages in Supervision on a regular, planned basis with Chief Operating Officer (COO)
  • Participates actively in on-going professional development opportunities
  • Provides after hours support for emergent needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a crisis intervention setting
  • Job performed in a modern office setting
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk throughout the day
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, lift or carry up to 20 pounds throughout the course of the day related to office equipment such as p.c., journals, and binders
  • The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculation, cutting, labeling and taping involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others
