JOB TITLE: Director of Public Relations, Marketing and Communications

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Public Relations develops and implements all Public Relations strategies, activities, communications and advertising for the organization. This position oversees the development and implementation of promotional and collateral materials. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Public Relations hires and manages department staff.
EDUCATUION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or similar field required.
Minimum of five years of experience required, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Healthcare or Hospice experience preferred.
Team management and leadership experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Public Relations is in charge of managing all employees in the Public Relations department, as well as maintaining all aspects of Public Relationsand Communications for the agency, including:
ORGANIZATIONAL BRANDING & PUBLIC RELATIONS OVERSIGHT:
Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and Public Relations program that will advance the agency’s desired branding, image and position within the marketplace and general public.
Ensure articulation of the agency’s desired image and position, and assure consistent communication of this image and position throughout the agency and among internal and external constituencies.
Responsible for maintaining the agency’s corporate image and branding standards in all products produced on behalf of Gulfside Healthcare Services.
MEDIA & ADVERTISING
Media Relations – Distributing press releases and pitching stories for appropriate Gulfside Healthcare Services events and communicating with the media in a timely manner regarding news coverage, interviews and feature stories.
Advertisements – creating and maintaining all traditional and digital advertisements for the agency, including print, television, radio, billboards, digital ads, and more.
Develop overall social media strategy and oversee the Social Media presence for the organization.
Oversee the maintenance of the organization website for the public to receive information about Gulfside Healthcare Services in a timely manner
COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
Speaking engagements – Responsible for booking appropriate person to speak at events throughout the local community and solicit speaking engagements.
Community Events/Health Fairs – maintaining Gulfside Healthcare Services visibility by attending health fairs and other community events when appropriate. Work in conjunction with other departments to supply material for events when they need it.
Special events – develop the marketing timeline and advertising to promote awareness and attendance of philanthropy events to support Gulfside.
PRODUCTION OF COLLATERAL:
Oversee the creation and printing of newsletters for target publics for Gulfside Healthcare Services including the community, doctors, volunteers and staff.
Provide graphic design services and/or coordinate with outside vendor in utilizing artistic ability and graphic design to create a variety of promotional materials, brochures, flyers, collateral and signage consistent with the organization’s branding standards
Work with departments within the organization to interpret their needs and design collateral and promotional products to meet their goals and objectives.
Write copy as needed for various materials and publications.
Coordinates multiple tasks to meet production deadlines for all collateral material.
Oversee finishing in-house products for delivery to internal clients including printing multiple copies, folding, cutting, laminating and collating.
Maintains an archive of completed designs in print and electronic formats.
Remains current on all related software, technology and design techniques. Attends occasional workshops to enhance professional competencies.
