Heart of Florida Health Center is a federally qualified health center serving the community in and around Ocala, Florida. We are in need of a Director of Marketing and PR to serve as the liaison and represent the brand of the organization in and among the community.
Overview:
The Director of Marketing & PR is a member of the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT), and is responsible for all facets of developing a comprehensive marketing plan that will increase awareness, revenues, and profits of the organization by assuring a unified message and branding. This position is responsible for promoting a positive image of the organization to the community and afar, whether through print media, in-person events, or on-line.
Leadership Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruiting and training health center staff for special projects
- Must be able to serve on interview panels and independently judge qualifications of applicants for assorted positions as requested.
- Must serve on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and assist other departments as needed.
- Must be able to adhere to budgetary requirements of the department, adjusting as needed to maintain accountability to CEO
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for development and recommendations of Strategic Marketing Plan (SMP).
- Collaborates with CEO and SLT to develop and maintain marketing budget.
- Prepares marketing forecast for long-range planning needs, including demographic studies, and preparing data from target market analyses from assorted outside sources.
- Develops marketing campaigns of new services and sites.
- Prepares and implements Community Report under CEO direction.
- Furnishes marketing advice, counsel, and general staff support to all departments within the organization
- Identifies and organizes presentations and Public speaking engagements.
- Prepares press releases under guidance of CEO.
- Identifies and secures sponsorships/donated items for marketing purposes, maintaining a database of donors and vendors. Prepares gratitude messages to same as needed.
- Prospects profitable sponsorship opportunities.
- Works with CEO to establish and nurture community relations by attending ongoing committees, councils, boards, and meetings, as well as identifying new connections for optimal awareness, education, and exposure of HFHC.
- Identifies new partnering opportunities with existing partners and develops programs to fit.
- Responsible for advertising, development of Marketing literature, and events to maximize optimal exposure and awareness of HFHC, maintaining cohesive branding.
- Works with CEO to serve as Community Liaison for community events as needed.
- Serves as FACHC and NACHC Liaison during Legislative Forums.
- Develops and implements internal marketing projects and manages, coordinates, staffs and implements special projects as required for SMP.
- Manages website, social media, and external and internal media projects, creating posts, campaigns, and other electronic events.
- Designs and implements social media campaigns specific to the needs of events, groups or other independent items of concern.
- Filters patient complaints/compliments and questions through website, google, and social media.
- When the CEO is not available, this position will serve as the spokesperson for the organization in times of emergency or other vital communication.
- Plans, orders and maintains inventory of Marketing materials and promotional items
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business, Public Relations or other related field required, or a combination of education and minimum experience acceptable
- Previous marketing experience in a not-for-profit setting required, community health center preferred.
- A minimum of five years progressive responsibility in the field.
- Demonstrated understanding of patient privacy rights. Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all medical, financial, corporate and other sensitive materials, whether electronic, printed, spoken or otherwise.
- Requires the ability to plan, organize and direct marketing programs and activities.
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills, including web and social media platforms
- The ability to delegate responsibilities and create a climate of teamwork and accountability.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have strong grasp of financial requirements for budget-driven forecasting
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
- Must demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Employee must demonstrate an understanding of the intent, and follow standards, guidelines and protocols related to achieving and maintaining certifications by outside agencies.
