Work Hours and Frequency:
The Human Resources Director works a full-time schedule in the West Atlantic City corporate office with occasional travel to other Angelic office locations.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of Human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Oversees the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentives, and employee wellness initiatives.
  • Conducts regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure the organization's compensation and benefits remain competitive in the market.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to EEO, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA, as well as healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior management.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff. Ensures compliance with annual education for all staff.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manages employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
  • Develops and implement employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive work culture and enhance employee morale.

  • Proven track record of effectively managing employee relations issues and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation and management preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or at least 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting. Also required is driving, writing, speaking, relating to others, making independent decisions, listening and finger dexterity, and the ability to lift and carry.
