As we continue to elevate our guest experiences and operational excellence, we are seeking a talented Assistant Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team.


Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic and dynamic role responsible for assisting the Executive Director of Human Resources in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support the organization's goals and objectives. This position will play a critical role in managing the HR functions, including payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, compliance, and special projects. Hospitality experience is a MUST to be considered for this role. In addition, it is an on-site only position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting for the Human Resource Department.
  • Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Assist the Director in coordinating training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge, incorporating Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Provide oversight to the HR Manager in planning, coordinating, and facilitating the organization’s foreign labor program, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
  • Lead and manage the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, tax filings, and reporting in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Oversee the administration of worker’s compensation programs, including managing claims, conducting investigations, and facilitating return to work.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address HR-related needs and initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  • Must work on-site only there are no remote option due to the complexity of this Resort.
  • Bachelor’s degree and HR certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a resort of comparable size, scope, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and laws.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion and ethical approach to HR.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, sitting for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and screen for data entry and communication.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds for office and event setup needs.
  • Ability to move around the property to attend meetings, inspect facilities, and engage with staff across various locations.
  • Capability to work long hours, occasional nights and weekends, as required by business needs.
