Job Summary
The Director of Facilities was established for the purpose(s) of planning, organizing and directing the maintenance, repair and alteration of buildings and grounds of the SRCR; serving as the Casino's representative in planning and developing facilities and new construction; ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory and projected deadlines; preparing and managing the annual budgets for the maintenance and grounds departments; and ensuring the hiring and training, including the optimal utilization of personnel and other resources.
This job reports to the SRCR Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience as Facilities Director and or manager for Casino/Resort; minimum of 150-200+ room hotel, 3+F&B outlets, golf, spa, convention space preferred; Native American gaming experience preferred
• 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a casino, resort, or hotel environment.
• Minimum of AA/AS degree in engineering, construction, or related field. Four-year degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum of seven years of construction/maintenance/contracting experience required
• Certifications: HVAC, CFM (Certified Facility Manager) and OSHA (30 hours)
• Expertise in casino/resort preventative maintenance
• Working knowledge and hands on experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry teams
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, technical specifications, and applicable building codes
• Microsoft Office Suite experience to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Vizio, etc.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (I.E., Maintenance Connection, FMS, FiiX, eMaint, FasTrak, Etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers including stakeholders, vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
• A prior record of developing subordinates into promotable positions; Tribal development experience preferred.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
• Lummi Tribal Gaming License, Class III
• Valid WA Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 30-45 days of hire
• Operator License of specialized equipment as detailed
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Responsible for the hiring, training, development, and retention of qualified facilities/engineering employees; responsible for the hiring and development of Lummi Tribal Members
• Responsible for the oversight and overall maintenance and repair of the casino buildings, grounds, furniture and fixtures
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining department, and capital budget, expenses, supplies and labor
• Ensure proper records retention including schedules, PM, contracts, billing, blueprints/plans, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining department's work order and preventative maintenance program.
• Ensure that all projects and maintenance tasks are performed according to current fire life and safety requirements both within required timeframes and within budget
• Responsible for required hazardous waste material storage, removal, and documentation
• Establishes and reviews departmental procedures to ensure required standards and practices. Ensures compliance with casino wide and Human Resources policies and procedures
• Actively promotes safety among department Team members and throughout the property
• Accountable for all inventory assigned to the maintenance department
• Acts as a role model for Team Members under their supervision by focusing on the demonstration of positive action, behavior, attendance, work ethic, and guest service
• Responsible tor preparing evaluations and recommending disciplinary actions when required
• Responsible for staffing, coaching, and disciplining when necessary
• Responsible for communication within their department ensuring that information is shared with Team Members
• Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ambulatory 60-75% of the time
• Requires occasional to frequent bending, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 75lbs.
• Requires eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, hearing, seeing, talking and depth perception
• Requires working in confined spaces and using ladders and stairs
WORKING CONDITIONS
• The scope of the job frequently requires working in the evenings, some holidays and on weekends
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and will vary by shift and/or event
• Casino's environment is typically smokey
• Casino's environment may appear dark but contains various types of lighting including strobe, flashing, various colors, etc.
• May work outside in all weather conditions including extreme winds, rain, snow, and heat
• Work involves exposure to toxic/dangerous chemicals
