JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Director, Facilities
Department: Ballpark Operations
Reports To: Senior Director, Facilities
Status: Exempt
Directly Supervises: Engineering and Maintenance
Primary Objective: Responsible for the execution of operational strategy that continually drives T-Mobile Park to be the safest, cleanest, and friendliest ballpark in Major League Baseball. Oversees operational aspects of the ballpark to include engineering, maintenance and occupational safety.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Responsibilities
  • Serve as a strategic leader, seeking new, improved and innovative ways to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency in Engineering and Maintenance functions. Identify and implement strategies to support business objectives.
  • Work with Senior Director of Facilities to plan and execute major maintenance and recommendations for capital improvement projects; ensure staff are deployed appropriately and work plans are designed to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget.
  • Lead effectively in a diverse, team-oriented environment and develop solid, cooperative working relationships with people at all levels of the organization.

Functional Responsibilities
  • Develop budgets, manage and track finances to ensure fiduciary responsibility and efficacy.
  • Oversee workflow and assignment with the proper use and function of the Mariners' CMMS, 24/7.
  • Train, evaluate performance, and foster growth and development of Team Members, encouraging personal and professional development.
  • Provide strong people leadership; implement strategies to effectively manage Team Members and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of department's people resources.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor and execute operations budget in support of organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement department rules, policies, regulations, work methods and procedures as well as monitoring work activities and performance of department personnel.
  • Develop and be accountable for culture of safety.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the organization's Business Continuity and Crisis Recovery (BCCR).
  • Tour and inspect ballpark to ensure quality standards in operations.
  • Oversee vendor contracts and develop strategic relationships with vendors and contractors servicing maintenance needs at the ballpark.
  • Assist Director, Security with implementation of the organization's Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
  • Service as a lead on compliance matters and industrial safety measures including Washington State Labor & Industries, OSHA, WSHA, DOSH and other federal, state and municipal regulations.
  • Administer Club's Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and associated Hazcom Plan and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program.
  • Oversee and responsible for the enforcement of Club's Safety Manual and leading safety meetings.
  • Administer the Club's first aid program in accordance with the APP.

Oversee and administer the Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) policy, training and compliance.
  • Manage FM Global Hot Work Permit Program as well as FM Global Red Tag program regarding fire suppression system impairments.
  • Perform Gameday supervision and operations.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required. Relevant and equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience in facility maintenance or engineering with at least five (5) years in a management capacity required.
  • Licensed tradesperson or previous facility project management experience preferred.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
  • Must understand and be able to read blueprints, interpret technical specifications, technical publications, fire and safety regulations and local/state building codes as applicable to ballpark
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with various governmental agencies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in operating stadiums, arenas, ballparks or large-scale facilities. Approaches change positively and leads others through the change process with a focus on the positive outcomes for the business.
  • Appropriately manages risk and capitalizes on opportunities that lead to positive outcomes for the business.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in operating stadiums, arenas, ballparks or large-scale facilities.

The Mariners are committed to providing a competitive total rewards package for our valued Team Members.
The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $110,000.00-$140,000.00 USD annually.
In addition, we offer eligible Team Members a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and a competitive 401(k) company match. We also provide complimentary parking, paid public transportation, paid parental leave, 80 hours of paid time off annually , and 9 days of paid holidays per year.
