About us:
The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) is a global Jewish human rights activist organization that confronts anti-Semitism, hate, stands with Israel, defends the safety of Jews worldwide, and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations. It is an accredited Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) at the United Nations, UNESCO and the OSCE, the Organization of American States, the Latin American Parliament, and the Council of Europe. The SWC is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in New York, Chicago, Miami, Toronto, Paris, Jerusalem and Buenos Aires. The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles, founded in 1993, is the educational arm of the SWC. Moriah Films is the Center’s two-time Academy Award®-winning film division and the Museum of Tolerance Jerusalem is scheduled to open in 2024.
About the role:
The Simon Wiesenthal Center (or) The Museum of Tolerance is seeking an experienced fundraiser to expand our efforts in the South. Primary focus is from Florida to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia and increasing our donor base throughout these states. This professional will work closely with the Executive Director, for campaign strategies, prospect management, cultivation, and solicitation of 5-6 figures gifts. Professional must be a self-starter, collaborator and flexible.
About you:
You are passionate about the values and purpose of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance. You love to fundraise and understand the financial analysis of the campaign management of an organization. You are bilingual in both English and Spanish.
This position will report to the Executive Director and is based in Miami.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a fundraising and prospect portfolio
- Cultivate and solicit new prospects
- Sustain and maintain donor relationships
- Expand donor engagement through affinity groups, (i.e Women’s, Professional Industry, Young Adult etc).
- Lead event design and implementation
- Able to negotiate vendor contracts
- Research prospects
- Able to articulate and present the importance of giving to SWC and MOT
- Must be able to collaborate with colleagues around the country
Experience and Skills:
- College degree required
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is required
- 7-10 years in development position
- Deep understanding of donor relations and donor engagement
- Ability to create and implement events of varying sizes
- Excellent verbal and written skills, along with ability to self-edit and proof-read.
- Understand campaign data and analysis
- Passion for people and serving the community
- Personality profile to fit into a safe, inclusive, open and collaborative culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment where you will get your hands into the details
