Essential Functions:
• Owns the development process from initial site visits to turn-over to operations for NSOs and remodels across all store locations, including project plan and budget management.
• Plans remodel/renovations each year with VP of Development and CEO. Sends new construction and remodel projects out to bid and administer quotes.
• Oversees coordination/communication/scheduling between designers, architects/engineers, contractors, and installers throughout projects for both corporate and franchise, to ensure development milestones and permitting/approval deadlines are being met.
• Works with kitchen designer and operations on initial design of restaurants. Plans the reviews of all drawings for projects, coordinate with architects/engineers to ensure correct specifications.
• Supervise design changes to buildings and equipment that are necessary, while still maintaining cost and aligning with code compliance.
• Performs site visits for feasibility of restaurants to new locations and collect information for architects/engineers.
• Maintains relationships with Property Managers/LLDs to help operators with issues.
• Works with facility department with capital expense reports and submit to finance for further approval.
• Works with purchasing department to establish and maintain national accounts to receive discounted pricing.
Additional Responsibilities That May Be Performed:
• Performs other related duties as assigned as it relates to the development, design, construction and maintenance of both corporate and franchise restaurants.
• Responds to e-mail and voicemail, as necessary to maintain an open line communication with vendors, architects/engineers, and franchisees.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:


Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction or related major AND 5-7 years of relevant experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic understanding of/or experience working in a restaurant/hospitality corporate support center, with previous experience in the fast-casual space and franchise relations experience
• Ability to travel 30% of the time.

• Proven success adhering to design development milestones and permitting/approval schedules.
• Application of extensive knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and procedures.
• Possess and exhibit a thorough and specific technical knowledge of kitchen equipment and all components of a restaurant both back of house and front of house (all FF&E).
• Functioning knowledge of the ADA and liquor control code and its application to new and remolded projects.
• Exhibit superior interpersonal communication skills to interact with clients, brand partners, vendors, and internal team on all levels, on a daily basis.
• Exceptionally organized, multi-tasked oriented, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe, and Photoshop), experience also in the utilization and maintenance of a project management tool.
• Strategic thinking, analytical and organizational skills are essential with strong decision-making ability.
• Understanding and application of business and management principles involved in planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and leadership of others.

This position plays a critical role in working cross functionally across multiple departments within the company.

This position requires the ability to drive results and manage difficult conversations with outside consultants and company vendors related to construction needs.

Leadership Responsibility:
This position supervisors the Facilities Department (1).

Physical Requirements:
• While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. May have to transport materials and kitchen equipment, and certain evaluated work will be required.
• Travel: Will spend majority of time in the field and traveling to respective stores, in some cases may require nights and weekends.

Work Environment:
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate when in office environment; however, site work will require exposure to varying weather conditions, increased exposure to noise and exposure to construction sites requiring the usage of hard hats and other safety precautions. This position will require copious time in front of a computer screen.
