Director Of Healthcare Architectural Design

Position Summary
Orlando Health is seeking an experienced Architectural Leader for the Director of Healthcare Architectural Design role at their corporate headquarters.
The Director ofArchitectural Design is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Enterprise-wide facility design program standards and procedures. This includes facility designs for inpatient and outpatient medical facilities templates, programs, and standards for expansion, replacement and retrofit projects.
This person will be working with the Asset Strategy Team. The Asset Strategy team is responsible for all planning, real estate, design and construction, and maintenance of the health system's facilities and properties.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions

• Develops guidelines associated with service line project typology, layout, design, and alignment with industry best practices.
• Provide leadership to the Manager, Interior Design and the Architectural Design Project Management team including the selection, management, and evaluation of external design consultants.
• Oversees the development of Corporate Standards for Architectural Design, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), site design, signage, wayfinding, corporate branding, interior design, medical equipment and FFE for the Orlando Health system.
• Develops relationships with state and civic Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure project regulatory compliance and alignment with project drawing submittals for review and approval for construction.
• Oversees the design process to ensure compliance with architectural standards, codes, and procedures. • Collaborates directly with legal consultants pertaining to contract negotiations, AIA Contract terms and conditions, design standard exhibits, and development of scope of work clarification for Architectural Design deliverables.
• Works in partnership with the Asset Strategy Real Estate, Facility Development and Corporate Engineering to ensure alignment with Organization-wide strategic goals.
• Identifies and develops intra-departmental Memorandum of Agreements (MOUs) to clarify roles and responsibilities.
• Manages the review and approval of Architect/Engineer proposed configuration, materials, systems, and advise final decisions.
• Approves contract documents, design schedules, drawings, and specifications.
• Administers the design review process and workflows in the eBuilder Project Management software to ensure efficient review and approvals consistent with project schedules.
• Responsible for drafting and managing the RFP process for design, engineering and related consultant team selections.
• Responsible for the Implementation and maintenance of the corporate BIM standards

Other Related Functions

• Utilizes eBuilder project management software as required.

Qualifications
Education/Training
• Bachelor's degree in architecture. A master's degree preferred and may be considered as a substitute for two years of relevant experience.
Licensure/Certification
• Certification/Licensure of AIA
Experience
• Ten (10+) years relevant work experience in the commercial real estate industry including at least two years in the healthcare sector including architecture, urban planning, development, and project management.
• Five (5+) years of relevant supervisory management experience leading staff members and project teams.
