Eastridge Workforce Solutions is currently engaged in a strategic collaboration with a leading U.S. medical device manufacturing entity in the quest for a qualified Director of Business Development. Our client boasts a network of six facilities, comprising four in the United States and two in the United Kingdom, all poised for substantial expansion. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a robust skill set encompassing effective sales techniques, adept Business Development strategies, proficient negotiation abilities, strong communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of engineering, particularly in the context of make-to-print offerings.
As a key member of the sales team providing a first-class customer experience, you will be responsible for:
- Securing profitable sales from new and existing customers in a “hunting” and “farming” role.
- Reviewing existing and prospective accounts with respect to their long-term value to the business.
- Gaining an intimate knowledge of customer requirements and developing compelling proposals in collaboration with our engineering, operations and quality teams.
- Securing customer commitment and taking an active interest in projects as they progress through the procurement cycle and beyond as necessary.
What you'll do:
- Develop business and relationships with program, purchasing, technical, and engineering contacts for all major assigned accounts in North America.
- Lead proposal, price, strategy, and negotiation activities for new business opportunities (NBO’s) in the North American as assigned.
- Review and classify all customer inquiries according to technical complexity, prepare quality proposals, and ensure they are processed and priced in accordance with company strategy in collaboration with Site General Managers and Controllers by utilizing the Levels of Authority (LOA) process.
- Develop and execute sales action plan derived from fiscal year budget and long range plan (LRP) to meet or exceed those sales goals.
- Develop, maintain, and have full responsibility for sales plans and forecasts in the North American markets as assigned and exceeding fiscal year budgets.
- Manage existing accounts in the North American markets promoting group wide capabilities.
- Collaborate with company marketing department to develop market presentations for assigned markets.
- Use QuickBase Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system daily to manage and track opportunities, inquiries, and proposals. Ensure information held in these systems is kept up to date.
- Provide pricing strategy for all repeat orders based on past product performance in conjunction with Site General Managers and Site Controllers.
What you'll need:
- 10+ years of total work experience in aerospace/defense/aviation manufacturing
- 3+ years of proven commercial sales experience
- Background in a operational or technical engineering role is considered ideal
- BS is required
- Willing to travel 35-40% of the time; focused mainly on North America
