Director Of Business Analysis

The Director of Business Analysis oversees the university's business processes and identifies opportunities and strategies to improve efficiency. They assist business units to develop strategies and ensure that desired results are achieved in a timely manner. The Director collaborates with the Business Analysts and Technical Analysts who report to the director on the intake and review of new project concepts and manages and assigns work to them. The Director also serves as Analyst on some select projects on a limited basis during which they are responsible for performing business process reviews, process mapping, facilitating the development and delivery of requirements and leading user acceptance testing and user story development. Utilizing both agile and waterfall methods, the Director collaborates with project management staff to ensure project business needs are documented and delivered. This position reports to Executive Director of the Office of Project Management.This is a full-time hybrid role with a minimum of two required days at Excelsior's home office of 7 Columbia Circle, Albany, NY, with the remainder of the days worked from home.Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Project Management and Executive Director of the Office of Project Management as a team.
• Collaborate with analysts to lead conversations to learn, analyze, solution, and document business processes and requirements for business units across the college.
• Identify opportunities to align processes across the University, and act as efficiency champion to develop business processes that are flexible and scalable.
• Encourage agile thinking with stakeholders to see beyond the traditional ways of doing business.
• Work closely with project staff and process/product owners, to effectively plan and execute tasks related to projects. In coordination with Information Technology Services (ITS) and business users, facilitate user acceptance testing prior to the launch of solutions, including test script development.
• Identify challenges, threats, and inefficiencies, and recommend solutions in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
• Maintain a broad understanding of Business processes across all phases of the student journey.
• Hold a strong understanding of systems functionality as it relates to technology supporting college Operations.
• Serve as a business process liaison between ITS and the business users.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director of the Office of Project Management to plan and execute adoption plans.
• Provide user level system configuration support as needed.
• Work closely with leaders in the strategic planning, and execution of initiatives supporting operational functions.
• Serve on committees as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Three to five years of related experience, ideally in higher education in respect to the student experience
• Certification related to Business Analyst and or Project Manager preferred

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA Preferred
• Experience managing staff preferred
• Ability to lead conversations and build consensus around decisions with a diverse population ofstakeholders
• Excellent organizational and decision-making skills, including the demonstrated ability to managemultiple priorities and meet deadlines while providing quality customer service and solutions
• Highly task oriented with a strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment

The hiring salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $98,000.00. The hiring salary range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Application Information
