Position Summary
Provides institutional strategic planning and direction for Clinical Research at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM). Leads the execution of strategic plans. Leads the collaboration and alignment of strategic goals with the Physicians Organization, the CIO and ITS team, and other key partners (e.g., Cornell Tech) to ensure the development and growth of Clinical Research, data and data infrastructure initiatives, as well as developing and supporting relationships with other key internal and external stakeholders. Provides strategic leadership and oversight of institutional initiative activities, including overseeing the forecasting and business planning for Clinical Research.
Job Responsibilities
- Sets the strategic vision and business plans for execution related to Clinical Research.
- Develops long-range strategic and annual operating plans for Clinical Research. Ensures that the annual operating plans are executed and consistent with the strategic plans of sponsoring institutions.
- Provides clear communication and support across the leadership team to ensure the implementation of the strategic vision. Provides leadership and guidance in all meetings to align with the strategic plans.
- Develops and structures reporting and communication of the vision and mission for Clinical Research.
- Grows and enhances Clinical Research through internal and external relationships, including donors.
- Collaborates with key institutional leaders and external stakeholders (industry and government) to develop strategic partnerships and collaborations on technology and research projects.
- Manages the financial planning and budgeting oversight for Clinical Research. Manages the delivery of financial reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Research.
- Leads the development of policies and standard operating procedures and directs the operationalization and technical implementation for Clinical Research. Leads the growth and development of Clinical Research, including new divisions and revenue sources.
- Leads multi-institutional collaborative arrangements and projects.
- Provides leadership on large, complex grants, contracts, and collaborative initiatives that are large multi-center trials (INSIGHT, All of US, NYP Telemedicine Evaluations, other large grants).
- Provides leadership and guidance on the establishment of institutional processes and workflows to streamline data intake, access, and use.
- Identifies and supports the contracting of data agreements for faculty to access additional data sources, such as claims data and social determinants of health data.
- Supports the development and growth of a new data coordinating center for Clinical trials at WCM.
Education
- Master's Degree
Experience
Master's Degree, preferably in areas on business and strategy, healthcare related degree welcome.
Minimum of ten years of experience in a leadership capacity and strategic capacity.
Experience running large, multidisciplinary projects and teams across complex organizations.
