Redis is looking to hire an exceptional Director, Events to build and drive our Corporate, Brand, and Industry trade show event strategy.

You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of all event logistics, vendor relations, and project management related to our corporate brand events - both in-person and hybrid - and to ensure the best ROI from our investments.

You should have a successful track record in similar senior event management roles and be highly experienced in working with global marketing, sales, and partner teams to help design, implement, and measure the effectiveness of our global event strategy in driving and accelerating pipeline across our sales segments.

This role will report to the VP, Demand Generation. You'll be part of a three-pronged event strategy effort, alongside Partner Marketing and Field Marketing, to identify and execute events around the world that drive pipeline and build Redis brand equity.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement our global event strategy to help increase brand equity, generate pipeline, and nurture our community from our marquee events, including Redis Con and AWS re:Invent as well as our regional and local events.
  • Define the goals and success metrics for each event to maximize yield.
  • Continuously improve and refine the event strategy based on measurable results.
  • Own the planning and execution of your global event strategy.
  • Manage the events budget, including allocation, forecasting, and cost optimization strategies to maximize ROI and drive efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams within Marketing to integrate events into the overall marketing strategy, driving lead generation and pipeline acceleration.
  • Work with Product and Demand marketing to build out appropriate messaging and a corporate story for each event to align to our overarching campaign strategy.
  • Provide internal recruitment and training/coaching planning and working our events.
  • Develop planning standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise of the production process of events.
  • Make sure that staff and work personnel at the event adhere to the management policies that were put in place to minimize poor customer experience.
  • Closely work with Finance to ensure that all associated event costs are billed and recognised in the correct quarters and aligned to our own legal terms and conditions.
  • Lead and mentor the events marketing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

What will you need to have?

  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing large-scale, global events that drive business outcomes and exceed expectations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to help guide and direct large cross-functional team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable event strategies.
  • Analytical rigor fueling an adaptive approach to event planning.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • You are creative, innovative, and like to think outside the box.
  • Confident with a dynamic personality with a presence to build trust and report with executive team ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Have a good network of vendors to call upon to help deliver highly customizable event experiences and stand out amongst other competitors.
  • Excellent communication skills across written, oral and presentations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for event attendance and coordination.
  • A minimum of 10 years work experience in event management/planning of which at least 3 have been at Director level or above.

The estimated gross base annual salary range for this role is $132,000$273,510 per year in New York, California, Washington, Colorado, and Rhode Island. Actual compensation may vary and is dependent on various factors, including a candidate's work location, qualifications, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of Redis' total compensation and competitive benefits package, which may include 401(k), unlimited time off, learning and development opportunities, and comprehensive health and wellness benefits. This role may include discretionary bonuses, stock options, commuter benefits based on location, or a commission plan. Salary history is not used in compensation package decisions. Redis utilizes market pay data to determine compensation, so posted compensation ranges are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
