Description
Summary
The Entertainment & Special Events Manager is responsible for the execution and coordination of all entertainment at the Obsidian Amphitheater and Event Centers inside the Casino. Entertainment & Special Events Manager is also responsible for all Cast Member Events, Special Retail Events and assisting with the development of VIP Events for Rolling Hills Casino and Resort.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
•Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including, nights, holidays and weekends.
•Create exciting and engaging events to drive retail player acquisitions and create customer loyalty.
•Assist with coordination of internal and external events.
•Strategically plan, conceptualize and execute highly effective Entertainment And Events calendars.
•Manage the property ticketing system and responsible set-up of events, venue seating, event data reports and box office settlements.
•Works closely with management and contracted talent buyers in booking talent of all calibers and genres for both properties and special events
•Oversees preparation of all artist/show pro formas and presents to management for approval
•Reviews all Talent buyer offer sheets and proposals
•Work with relevant departments to plan, organize and promote on-property and public events/themes.
•Prepares event pro formas based on buyer offer sheets to determine ROI
•Pro forma process and ROI determination includes assessing and analyzing all company internal and external costs , ticket scaling and break even analysis
•Serves as event producer/ production contact day of show and thus be expected to work long hours to ensure proper event execution from load in to load out
•Responsible for the preparation of the annual entertainment budget
•Monitors all spending to ensure departmental budget objectives are achieved
•Keeps abreast of all event schedules, reporting any incidents that may contribute to scheduling and/or promotional challenges
•Regularly interacts with marketing staff to communicate scheduling updates, (new) special events and headliners
•Analyze feedback from guests, make logical judgements and take action to implement suggestions for improvement.
•Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
•Event Management Manage all events, handling all details including, but not limited to, securing of venue, menu, scheduling volunteers and staff, and day-of logistics including set up and strike.
•Provides talent and technical support for Marketing promotional events and sales groups
•Coordinate, communicate, and advance each event with artist, all essential departments and production companies to achieve a safe and successfully executed events.
•Assist with the execution of contracts, MoUs, and other agreements with artist, agents, talent buyer, Production Company, attorneys and any other entertainment entities.
•Coordinate all hospitality, lodging, ground transportation and merchandise sales.
•Schedule, train, organizes and oversee the concert ushers.
•Work with outside promoters and/or organizations in planning and execution of property events and festivals.
•Responsible for booking entertainment for all current and future casino venues.
•Establish relationships with local and regional artists and production companies.
•Collaborate with the Player Development Manager to create and develop promotions And Events for the VIP segments.
•Responsible for creation and monitoring of Entertainment And promotions budgets.
•Develops and implements new department policies and procedures when needed.
•Other duties may be assigned.
•On call 24/7 to accomplish the fundamental job objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 5 -10 employees in the Department and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees as well as planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees. Addresses complaints and resolves problems both internally and externally.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be at least 21 years of age and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous management and event planning experience of at least four years is required. The successful candidate will possess the demonstrated ability and style to thrive in an environment where limited standardization exists.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Gaming license issued by the Paskenta Gaming Commission. Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands
