The Director, HR Business Partner (West Region) leads the people management agenda in a business unit/area, and acts as a facilitator for the company's management team. Applies broad experience in various Humana Resources (HR) areas of expertise. The Director, HR Business Partner requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
Serves as the lead HR Business Partner for the home health business at a region level, implementing HR best practices and advising on diverse people strategies that align with operational goals. Builds strong business relationships with region and area operations, sales, and clinical leaders, applying broad HR expertise in areas including coaching and development, strategic workforce planning, performance management, policy and procedure, compliance, risk assessment, application of compensation practices/methods, and talent acquisition. Analyzes performance metrics to assess progress on key performance indicators within their respective region.
Responsibilities:
  • Acts as consultant to region and area leadership; coaches, influences and provides insight on people strategy best practices, compliance, policies/procedures.
  • Partners with M &A team and region leadership to ensure and support successful acquisition and integration of acquired organization.
  • Provides leadership, and guidance to regional Senior HRBP team to ensure strong performance and internal support to region.
  • Guides strategic workforce planning for region, including succession planning for key positions, ensuring appropriate alignment with productivity, growth/expansion objectives, staffing model, and applicable pay methodology.
  • Assesses and reports on performance analytics including retention, continuous listening and exit data, hiring trends, capacity/growth, and productivity; identifies gaps, conducts root cause analyses, and works with regional leadership team develop people strategies that align with operational priorities and key performance indicators.
  • Drives performance improvement and provokes positive changes in people management.
  • Collaborates with HR colleagues and CoE specialty partners including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, compliance, payroll, workers' compensation, learning and development, Inclusion and Diversity.
  • Leads and/or supports change management projects and the HR related internal and external communication.
  • Communicates, implements, and supports various initiatives and updates to processes, policies, systems and practices.
  • Presents and reports on regional HR metrics and strategic priorities to senior leadership.
  • Facilitates education on various HR topics within the region.
  • Provides advice and direction relative to HR policy interpretation and compliance.

Required Qualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of eight or more years of broad Human Resources experience.
  • Possesses broad subject matter expertise in HR disciplines and concepts including leadership development, workforce planning, performance management, change management, succession planning, and talent acquisition.
  • Minimum of five or more years of formal or informal leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and provide meaningful insight to various performance analytics.
  • Ability to accommodate approximately 10% of travel based on business requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in navigating HRIS, business intelligence software, and other technology necessary to perform essential functions of the role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly and confidently present to and communicate with a variety of audiences including field associates and executive leadership.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively as a leader and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage several urgent priorities and demonstrate agility as needs shift.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee, patient, and business information to ensure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and advising senior leaders on human resource strategy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR/SPHR certification
  • Master's degree
  • Experience within a healthcare setting and/or with a multi-site, multi-state employer
  • Previous experience working within a highly matrixed organization.

Work-At-Home Requirements:
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$149,800 - $206,100 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
