Director, Corporate Events

Role Purpose

The Director, Corporate Events will report to the Senior Vice President, NBCU Corporate Events.

Job Duties

• Research, develop, manage, and execute special events for all NBCUniversal properties, both nationally and internationally
• Negotiate contracts pertaining to event accommodations, entertainment venues, activities, transportation, and more
• Create, ideate, design and install floor plans, decor plans and event branding
• Manage guest invitation/communication process and travel procurement for each assigned event
• Own the tracking of event budgets and reconciliation
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand their client's needs of custom events, promotions, for advertising partners
• Generate and research new event ideas and opportunities for sales staff and advertising clients
• Develop contacts and relationships with vendors, including hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies, to secure the best possible rates and opportunities for NBCUniversal
• Maintain working knowledge of industry happenings, as well as up-to-date information on new hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and more
• Work closely with merchandise director to develop ideas for creative and unique premium ideas for each event, as well as ongoing NBCUniversal merchandise

Basic Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in corporate event planning 
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to work in New York, NY
• Willingness to travel at least 40% of the year, and work long hours and weekends
• This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
