Let's do this. Let's change the world! The Director of Content Strategy and Innovation resides within Amgen's Global Customer Capabilities (GCC) organization.
The Director of Content Strategy and Innovation is responsible for implementing and overseeing the company's content capability strategy and driving innovation through the use of emerging technologies. This role is also responsible for managing the in-house design team, and managing our Agencies and Suppliers Management team.
This position reports to the Executive Director of Content Strategy and Operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's global Content Strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and target audiences.
- Build industry-leading capabilities ecosystem that enables the most impactful customer engagement.
- Manage the in-house design team managing the production of content assets, including design, copywriting, and video editing.
- Lead the development and implementation of new content formats and channels, working closely with the leads within the Content & Technology team.
- Establishing enhanced foundational capabilities to support the business, such as AI content generation technology.
- Experiment with emerging technologies to create innovative, sustainable, and engaging content user experiences, working closely with the lead of Agencies and Suppliers Management to identify and implement the most promising solutions.
- Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the content production process by investigating usability, accessibility, curating for digital channels, and meeting our brand and business function needs with content.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Marketing Excellence, Media, technology, data and analytics, and regional marketing to ensure that the content capability is aligned with overall business objectives.
- Measure and analyze the performance of content work streams to identify areas for improvement, working closely with the marketing capabilities teams to develop and implement corrective actions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key collaborators, partners, and vendors.
- Manage the Content Strategy and Innovation team providing guidance and support on all aspects of their roles.
- Identify efficiencies and solutions within overseeing the strategy and innovation budget.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in marketing, Content Strategy, media and/or design
OR
Master's degree and 6 years of experience in marketing, Content Strategy, media and/or design
OR
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in marketing, Content Strategy, media and/or design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong discernment, critical thinking and execution excellence skills honed by in-market experience at Global, Regional or affiliate level (ex-US plus US experience is ideally preferred)
- Possesses an understanding of broad, global market dynamics and the cultural awareness and sensitivity to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues around the world
- Experience and strong competence in planning processes, including the use and application of current tools and frameworks
- Established performance record with clear outcomes achieved
- Experience managing external partners including vendors, agencies and other third parties
- Seasoned leader with ability to confidently prioritize, direct, and manage multiple, complex, and interdependent capabilities and projects
- Self-starter and must possess leadership capabilities with little direct supervision
- Exceptional project and time management skills
- Very strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Knowledge of internal organizational process and procedures
- Excellent written, verbal and communication and presentation skills
- Impeccable ethics and integrity and comfort operating in a highly regulated environment.

Salary Range
194,067.00 USD - 233,110.00 USD
