Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Channel Marketingto join the Building Control Systems Team. This is a remote position reporting to the Vice President of Marketing. The Director of Channel Marketing will work closely with sales and marketing to focus on the field execution of marketing initiatives to build strong brands and sales programs in both the residential and commercial channels. Collaborate with business leaders to create clearly defined, integrated programs that focus on marketing execution in the channel, including product launches, sales training content, promotions planning/execution, selling collateral, merchandising and branch marketing support.
What Will You Do?
- BCS Channel Marketing: Maintain, manage, and evolve each of our Incentive programs as needed across BCS to evolve and strengthen customer loyalty. This role will work closely with Sales and Marketing leadership on promotion planning. They will collaborate with the marketing and sales teams on account needs to best utilize the marketing funds (co-op) to mutual benefit through joint marketing campaign planning/execution with customers. This role will actively work with Sales leadership on our ongoing efforts to improve Sales Effectiveness. Lastly, keep the BCS products front line and align our agents and dealers to be continuously informed and engaged in marketing initiatives, product launches, promotions, and new ways to grow sales together. Maintain and enhance Legrand/ BCS branch awareness solutions such as merchandising and promotional material.
- Sales Meeting Leadership & Annual Sales Planning: Work with Sales & Marketing leadership to direct annual/bi-annual sales conferences (virtual and/or in-person) to ensure sales force execution against Company priorities and to support growth objectives. Partner with SVP of Sales and Regional VPs to improve annual sales planning process to drive annual growth within the channel.
- BCS Specification Marketing Oversight: Responsible for managing the marketing specification function and collaborating with marketing communications to support demand creation sales team efforts in key vertical markets. Oversight of technical documentation development for new products and development of new digital tools to support specification of Legrand products (configurators, submittal tools etc.).
- Trade Shows/Channel Events Leadership and Oversight: Lead and manage Channel focused events/trade shows aimed to promote and educate Legrand solutions and new products to large strategic channel partners and customers.
- Results Measurement/Continuous Improvement: Conduct field and marketing research (VOC) to capitalize on Channel Marketing trends, assess marketing effectiveness with sales and external constituents. Benchmark our efforts against competition and spearhead continuous improvement activities. Be the voice of our Channel partners/ customers when collaborating with Legrand Leadership.
- Budget: Responsible for developing, proposing, and managing approved budgets that are grounded in Channel Marketing and sales support.
- Performs other similar and marketing-related duties as required.
Education
- Master of Science (M.S.) or Business Administration (M.B.A) in marketing or communications.
- 10+ years’ experience in marketing or senior-level marketing communications positions with the ability to demonstrate progressive marketing roles and results. Direct selling experience is a plus.
- Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
- Must have strong analytical skills and proven ability to effectively research and summarize information on a variety of subjects. Demonstrated problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
- Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
