Position: Direct Support Professional IV (Direct Care) [244]
Program: Borger, Texas - ASCI
Salary: $15.66/hr.
Shift available: Full-time (Monday - Friday from 8 am - 4 pm)
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- The Therapist Technician IV (TTIV) performs Direct Care services for individuals attending the Day Habilitation Program in ASCI
- The TTIV is responsible for providing supervision and care to clients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
- Responsibilities of this position may include toileting, feeding, and teaching social and independent living skills to verbal/nonverbal clients
- The TTIV has no financially responsibility but is accountable for the assigned property of the clients
- The TTIV works under the supervision of the ASCI Director
- Adheres to the TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- High school diploma or GED
- One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test
- Some experience assisting in arts and crafts, music, education, recreation, vocational therapy, physical therapy, or occupational therapy
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Bilingual and/or American Sign Language skills
- Experience in designing programs and working with persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
