Direct Support Professional

Job Description:
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Down Home Ranch, you will have the unique opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with IDD. You will work closely with our residents in a supportive and nurturing environment, helping them develop essential life skills, foster meaningful connections, and participate in a variety of enriching activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized care and support to residents with IDD in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
• Assist individuals in participating in recreational, social, and vocational activities both on and off the ranch, tailored to their interests and abilities.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with our interdisciplinary team.
• Foster a warm and inclusive atmosphere that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress, incidents, and goals, ensuring compliance with agency policies and regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow team members, families, and external stakeholders to provide holistic care and support to our residents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in human services, special education, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals with IDD or in a similar caregiving role strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of person-centered care principles and the ability to provide compassionate and respectful support to individuals with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
