This post is specifically for a Direct Support Professional to work Tuesdays to Saturdays in Herndon from 10 am to 5 pm. Pay will be $20 to $22 an hour. The DSP will have the opportunity to work more hours if desired.

We are seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) / Caregivers to join our team! You will assist in the daily care of individuals ages 8+. (Must pass a background check)
We have positions available to start as soon as possible, as well as in the coming weeks and months.
Experience:
- Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities.
- Communicate ongoing care results and updates to relevant parties .
- Collaborate with clients and families for the best care opportunities.
- Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment.
- Document daily notes of activities, progress, and any incidents or changes in the individual's behavior or health.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, sit and walk.
- Successful clearance of background checks.
- Previous experience in personal care or other related fields.
- Compassionate and caring demeanor.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
Certifications: ( **If you have prior Caregiving / Direct Support Professional experience but you do not have any or some of the certifications, we can help you obtain All of these certifications within a couple of days)

- * * First Aid
- * * CPR
Direct Support Professional assists individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities with daily living and activities at home or in the community. Their duties may include making beds, doing laundry, preparing and providing meals.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of some of the characteristics and concepts of Developmental and intellectual Disability and mental health, disorders.
- Knowledge of simple care, first-aid, behavior management, personal and environmental hygiene.
- Ability to provide basic care, personal care, and hygiene.
- Ability to teach clients eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and other self-care skills.
- Ability to observe, record, and report clients' behavior, attitude, and physical condition.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and other employees.
