DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Overview:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities:

- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

- Administer medications according to prescribed guidelines

- Provide Direct Support and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities

- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding

- Engage individuals in recreational and social activities

- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals

- Perform heavy lifting as needed to assist individuals with mobility

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to ensure individual needs are met

Qualifications:

- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred

- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus

- Ability to provide Direct Support and care in a compassionate manner

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individuals with disabilities

- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Note: Prior experience in nursing homes, childcare, or assisted living facilities can be transferable skills for this position.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
