Job description

The Digital Strategy Leadis a critical role within the Commercial Bank's award-winning Strategic Operations group that establishes and leads Strategy, Digital and Innovation initiatives to enhance client and colleague experiences and drive operational efficiencies through the use of technology, system and process change - across all Commercial onboarding and servicing activities. 

It provides strategic direction, industry awareness and insights, deep systems and process expertise, and a full spectrum of client and colleague enhancing transformational guidance to senior leadership across our business lines and partners throughout the enterprise.  

Reporting to the Head of Strategy, Digital Innovation & Change, the role will define and evangelize the long-term (3, 5 and 10 year) strategic vision for both Commercial Digital and Operations and implement a flexible and effective framework to deliver it. 

This will require a thorough knowledge of commercial banking, client onboarding and servicing processes, and the various wholesale banking product categories offered including Commercial Bilateral Credit, Capital Markets (Syndicated Lending, Private Equity, M&A), Treasury (Payments, Cash Management, Liquidity, Trade and Supply Chain Finance), Corporate Credit Card, and Global Markets (FX, Interest Rate Derivative, Commodities). 

This is a highly visible role suited to an experienced and adaptable candidate with a proven track record of strong relationship building and successful technology consultation, design and delivery outcomes.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Defines the long-term (3, 5 and 10 year) strategic vision and implement a flexible and effective framework to deliver it.
  • Oversees team execution to ensure focus on delivering a great customer experience and high-quality results that exceed customer expectations through innovative strategies and initiatives.
  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of an Agile change delivery framework, including data and automation technologies and applications.
  • Provides product management leadership including requirements definition; solution design; communication and prioritization within pods; and risk identification/escalation.
  • Ensure appropriate metrics are in place and measure performance and progress toward goals, as well as return on investment.
  • Design and review dashboards for impact and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

Bachelor's degree (Business Administration, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or similar) followed by at least 10 years of progressive experience to the role or in a similar position in the Banking, Management Consultancy, or Enterprise Software (preferably Financial Services-related) industries.

Full term of experience must include: 

  • Utilization of business design, technology architecture, and process re-engineering methodologies for commercial banking operations and environment.
  • Product development and management involving knowledge of corporate banking products across bilateral and syndicated loans; cash, card and liquidity management; FX, commodities and rates; and payment services.
  • Designing, implementing and refining Agile change delivery frameworks to suit the business, including integration with software, data and automation technology development lifecycles. 
  • Industry knowledge and application of contemporary technology solutions including SaaS/Cloud (AWS/Azure), APIs, AI (General/Generative), xR, Embedded Finance, and Distributed Ledger/Blockchain solutions.

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Full time

The salary range for this position is $138,000 - $207,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
