Desktop Technician Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Desktop Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of desktop systems within our organization. The Desktop Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the functionality of our desktop environment, contributing to a seamless and productive work experience for all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktop systems, applications, and network connectivity.
- Collaborate with end-users to provide timely and effective technical support.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Conduct hardware and (software) inventory management to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Provide training and assistance to end-users on desktop-related matters.
- Stay informed about emerging desktop technologies and recommend improvements.
- Document technical processes, procedures, and issue resolutions.
- Basic knowledge of AV systems/solutions setup in conference rooms
- Flexible schedule
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Desktop Technician or similar role.
- Solid understanding of desktop operating systems in a mixed environment (Windows & macOS) and office productivity software.
- Hands-on experience with desktop hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as (CompTIA A+) or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.
- (Bachelor's degree in Information Technology), Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
