Design team looking for Design Room Assistant to help with daily design/merchandising/organizational tasks! Great role for growth within the company.
- Must display professionalism and be a highly organized self-starter, with the ability to shift priorities with a sense of urgency, and have excellent attention to detail
- Must have proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Email, etc.), and ability to quickly learn new computer programs
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of internal processes and support of the design team
Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Log in all incoming samples from stores and keep ongoing chart and photo system organized to ensure all returns are made on time
- Making sure all samples filed properly, steamed, and ready for any appointments
- Take detailed photos of all new garments, assign style numbers, and ensure garments are presentable for showroom meetings
- Set up new styles into computer system when new orders are placed from sales team
- Input fabric information into computer system for costing
- Keep track of outgoing and incoming samples from outside sewing service and cross check invoices
- Work with fabric mills and production team to coordinate swatches are given for labdips and strikeoffs
- Swatch and organize fabric library
- Photoshop/Illustrator skills for CADs and sketching are not required, but a major plus!
- Ability to put together Powerpoint Presentations is also a major plus
- Ownership of tasks after training window is essential
