Shift: Monday- friday-7 am to 3 pm - DAY
Responsibilities:
- Collecting, sterilizing, and storing surgical instruments prior to surgery
- Preparing patients for surgery by washing them with antiseptic solutions and applying drapes or surgical gowns
- Preparing Operating Rooms for surgery by setting up equipment and instruments
- Taking notes during meetings with patients to document their medical history
- Helping surgeons, nurses, and other staff members during surgical procedures by holding retractors, keeping track of tools, assisting in the application of sterile drapes and gowns, and passing instruments as needed
- Sterilizing surgical instruments by soaking them in a chemical solution or placing them in an autoclave machine that uses high pressure steam to sterilize them
- Maintaining supply inventories of items such as surgical gloves and drapes in Operating Rooms
- Preparing patients for surgery by shaving and scrubbing incision sites with antiseptic solutions
Education:
- Operating room assistants are typically required to have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- 2 years of Operating Room Assistant experience in Acute care / Hospital.

Salary: $38,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
