Resource Room Assistant
EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 65,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Full-Time Resource Room Assistant for the Career Services Program.
The Resource Room Assistant position is a non-exempt position paying $25.97 per hour at 35 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:45PM and the office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to Program Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:
The Resource Room Assistant serves as a point of contact for clients and vocational staff, providing career assistance services to participants and administrative support for the daily operations of the Resource Room.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor customer flow and computer utilization in the Resource Room
- Catalogues, organizes and maintains a library of all printed listings of employment and training services, websites and instructional equipment used in the Resource Room
- Establishes and maintains rules and requirements for Resource Room usage
- Answers questions and provides an initial orientation to first time visitors on services and tools available in the Resource Room
- Monitors and assists customers use of internet access and job-related materials
- Provides the customer with requested media (e.g. newspaper, directories, instructional manuals, etc.), printed instruction or lists
- Troubleshoots all computer-related problems customers may have and communicates problems to the Network Administrator for repair
- Assists customers with minimal resume preparation
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Associate degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
- Relevant work experience required.
- Must have access to automobile and possess valid Driver's License.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
