In this highly client-facing role, you will lead the discovery process for new clients. Listening to, and empathy for, prospective clients’ needs and wants is the heart of the daily duties. A high level of inquisitiveness is needed to truly understand what can and should be built. You will assist in assessing their home or property, assess their interests, and work alongside the estimating staff to align their scope of work with an accurate budget projection.
A strong background in design and/or construction is needed to succeed, and the position will require frequent communication and project management with all the stakeholders in the design process. Our experienced staff is a group of creative, fun, and energetic people that will provide an excellent team support system and work environment.
As the Design + Build Sales Specialist, you must be people-oriented and communicate well in person and in writing to establish and maintain rapport with our clients. Additionally, excellent analytic skills are key to ensuring that a project is viable to sell to the Design Team.

Responsibilities
- Interview and vet new sales prospects.
- Conduct site visits and Discovery sessions for all new vetted leads.
- Educate prospective clients in Riemco’s building methodology and processes.
- Create Cost Feasibility studies, based on information gathered from Discovery sessions.
- Act as a resource and liaison to the Clients throughout the Discovery process.
- Provide proactive feedback and suggestions with an eye to budget, aesthetics, and functionality.
Skills
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, Project Management, or Construction is strongly preferred. Demonstration of similar skills learned by other means will be considered.
- Must have several years of demonstrated skill in an Architecture / Design office setting or similar field experience working in construction trades.
- Relevant sales training (Sandler, Voss, etc) is a plus.
- Have a strong understanding of residential construction methods and building materials.
- Be proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents. Strong spatial skills and reasoning are a must.
- Be conversant in the language of design and aesthetics. Ability to concisely and coherently communicate these ideas is a must. Be creative, innovative, adaptive, and communicative. If you don’t have a sense of humor, you probably won’t do well here.
- Proficiency in using design and/or BIM software, such as Chief Architect, ArchiCAD, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar is not required, but will be regarded highly.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar suites is a must.
- Experience with Smartsheet, CoConstruct, Wrike, or other project management software is a plus.
Compensation will be a base salary plus sales commissions, commensurate with the applicant's skill level. For the right person, this is a position with a high earnings potential.
